Packing a balikbayan box can be a rewarding experience, ensuring your loved ones receive their items safely. Here are some tips to help you pack efficiently:​ 

 

1. Choose a Sturdy Box: We suggest one of our balikbayan boxes that can withstand international shipping. We also accept competitors' boxes. Consider reinforceing the seams with strong packing tape to prevent any mishaps during transit. We accept (Pregnent boxes and boxes over 24x18x24 (6 cubic ft) however these require special pricing)

2. ​Tape the bottom flap of the box. Place tape horizontally and vertically on the flaps and connecting corners. Keep the top open.

3. Create an Inventory: Make a detailed list of the items you're including. This helps keep track of what you're sending and place inside the box for your loved ones.

4. Prioritize Essential Items: Pack essential items first, such as non-perishable goods, toiletries, and clothing. Include local favorites and specialties that may not be readily available in the Philippines.

5. Secure Fragile Items: Wrap fragile items individually with bubble wrap or newspaper and place them in the center of the box, surrounded by soft materials like clothing or towels for added protection.

6. Seal Items in Plastic Bags: To protect your items from moisture during transit, seal toiletries and liquid items in plastic bags.

7. Label Clearly: Use a permanent marker to label the box with the sender and recipient's names and addresses. Ensure the writing is legible and in block letters to avoid any confusion.

8. Avoid Overpacking: Keep the weight of the box manageable to prevent damage and ensure it can be handled easily by shipping personnel. (Our boxes are rated for 120 lbs)

9. Check to be sure you have not packed prohibitrd items and follow all regulations and laws. (Items that are prohibited and or restricted to ship and that may result in the prosecution of the shipper and the consignees)

10. Seal your box well. We suggest using a heavy duty 2.5 mil thick or better tape. (We do sell packing tape but you can use any good packing tape available.)
